The public is invited to attend free of charge. The author of five books of poetry, Eady most recently wrote The Autobiography of a Jukebox (Carnegie Mellon University Press, 1996). His previous collections include You Don’t Miss Your Water (Henry Holt & Co., 1995); The Gathering of My Name (Carnegie Mellon University Press, 1991), which was nominated for the 1992 Pulitzer Prize; Victims of the Latest Dance Craze (Ommation Press, 1986), which won the 1985 Lamont Prize from the Academy of American Poets; and Kartunes (Warthog Press, 1980).

Eady’s many honors include National Endowment for the Arts, Rockefeller Foundation and Guggenheim fellowships, as well as Lila Wallace-Reader’s Digest Writer’s and Prairie Schooner Strousse awards.

Eady is an associate professor of English and director of the poetry center at the State University of New York at Stony Brook.
