Judith Plaskow, author of the landmark text "Standing Again at Sinai: Judaism from a Feminist Perspective" (HarperCollins, 1991) and professor of religious studies at Manhattan College, will give a presentation titled "Asking the Right Questions: The Development of Jewish Women's Studies" at 7 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 5 (snow date: Thursday, Feb., 12), in the Edmund S. Muskie Archives, 70 Campus Avenue.

Portland rabbi to discuss 'faith in a broken world'

Rabbi Alice Dubinsky of Congregation Bet Ha'am in South Portland will present a talk titled "Holy Fragments: A Rabbi's Faith in a Broken World" at 4:30 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 30, in Skelton Lounge, Chase Hall, 56 Campus Ave. Part of the series "Spiritual Journeys: Stories of the Soul 2001-02," sponsored by the chaplain's office, the talk is open to the public free of charge.
