The program included a solo by Weinshenker, “Concerto for Oboe and Strings,” by Ralph Vaughn-Williams.

In honor of the 200th anniversary of the birth of the Austrian composer Franz Schubert, the orchestra will conclude with Symphony #8, “The Unfinished.”

Weinshenker, a senior music major, is the daughter of Phillip and Roberta Weinshenker, of 339 South Road. A dean’s list student, Weinshenker was a member of the Representative Assembly and spent her junior year in Great Britain. She is a 1993 graduate of Lawrence Academy in Groton.
