Haviland of Beverly, Mass., performs a trumpet concert May 16 at 8 p.m. in the Olin Arts Center Concert Hall. The public is invited to attend free of charge.

Haviland will perform works on trumpet by Handel, Vivaldi, Vincent Bach, Clergue and Gliere. Accompanied by pianists Mark Howard and John Corrie, Haviland also will sing solo soprano on a few selections, and will perform a number of soprano duets with senior Neva Corbo-Hudak of Boston. A double major in music and sociology, Haviland completed a senior thesis in sociology on the Portland Symphony Orchestra.
