Muskie Archives. Russell’s talk is part of the Religion, Science and Public Policy Lecture Series at Bates. The public is invited to attend free of charge.

Trained as a scientist and theologian with a doctorate in physics from the University of California, Santa Cruz, and a master’s from the Pacific School of Religion, Russell is an ordained minister of the United Church of Christ. He has published numerous scholarly essays as well as edited a variety of books on the connection between physics and divinity.

Russell also has been featured in many television, radio and newspaper stories, including the Los Angeles Times, Omni Magazine and Smithsonian World.
