Bates sophomore Hallie Grossman and junior Jordan Buetow placed 32nd and 38th, respectively, in the Nordic freestyle races as the NCAA National Collegiate Skiing Championships concluded at Rikert Touring Center.
Bates sophomore Hallie Grossman and junior Jordan Buetow placed 37th and 40th in their respective classical technique races on Thursday, the first day of Nordic competition at the NCAA National Collegiate Skiing Championships.
Bates College will have four student-athletes competing at the 2013 NCAA National Collegiate Skiing Championship, including two from the Nordic team in junior Jordan Buetow and sophomore Hallie Grossman.
The Bates Nordic ski team enjoyed an outstanding final day of the carnival season on its home turf at Black Mountain, placing three athletes in the top 22 in the men’s 20K mass start freestyle race, and three more in the top 25 of the women’s 15K at the Bates Carnival and NCAA East Regional Championships.
The Bates’ men’s and women’s Nordic ski teams both had two skiers in the top 22, and both placed sixth among 12 squads in the classical technique races on Friday at the Bates Carnival and NCAA East Regional Championships.
