90’s Jam: Alternative Lounge and Video Game Tournament

Bates-Jam-90s-WKND-Logo-1Saturday, January 18, 2014

Building on the 80’s and Halloween alternative programming from the fall, for 90’s weekend, we collaborated with the Dean of Students office through the JA/RC program to sponsor an afternoon 90’s video game tournament, with prizes to the winners, and an evening hang out lounge in Chase Hall’s Little Room.

The game tournament was a huge success. We had 23 participants, many of whom had never been to the OIE before. Participants came from every corner of campus, and had a great time mingling together.

In the night lounge, we provided music and dancing, video and board games, movies, and a photo booth. Because the 90’s Dance was held under the library arcade, many more people were able swing back and forth easily between the dance and our lounge.
