Alumni Achievements

Bates alumni attend some of the best graduate schools in the country, and surveys suggest that 70% to 75% of recent Bates graduates are enrolled in some graduate study within ten years of graduation.  The information in the alumni database is far from complete, but it provides examples of the types of institutions attended and the degrees most commonly earned by alumni, as well as some of the most common jobs they hold. 

At least 918 Bates graduates earned doctoral degrees in academic fields from 1966 to 2005.   Bates ranks 26th out of 163 Liberal Arts colleges in doctoral degrees earned by alumni (from 1996-2005), up from 39th place in the previous decade (1986-1995)
