High School Courses
In preparing for Bates, students should take the most challenging curriculum available to them; most of our entering students have completed honors or AP courses. Individual cases may vary, but we recommend that students complete four years of English, at least three of mathematics, three of a foreign language, three of history, and at least two of a laboratory science.
Extra-curricular Accomplishments
Students admitted to Bates are engaged in extra-curricular activities and their communities; they' re involved in athletics, art, music, debate, theater, and volunteer work. They take advantage of and create opportunities during their high school years in the same way they do when they join our community.
