Course Scheduling Grid

Each January, the Curriculum Review Committee solicits “grid” information (the listing of when courses will be scheduled in a given semester) from each department and program chair for the upcoming year. Department and program chairs complete and submit the grids for the following fall, winter, and short term through the Garnet Gateway (the link may be found under the “Course Maintenance” menu).

Footnotes

  1. MWF 8:00-9:20 – If only 55 minutes long, can be scheduled to meet MWF from 8:25-9:20.
  2. 80 minute MWF slots – Alternatively, if 80 minutes long, could meet MF, MW, or WF, although classes that generally are going to meet only twice a week should preferably use one of the 80 minute TTh time slots.
  3. TR 8:00-10:50 – To be used as a lab only if five sections of the lab are scheduled at other times, or under special circumstances.
  4. Extra session times to be used only: (a) by MWF classes that need to meet regularly four or five times a week, and (b) as a discussion section time by classes with multiple discussion sections.
  5. Extra discussion section times TR 4:10-5:00 – To be used only by classes with an alternate discussion section that meets prior to 4:00.
