BCO: Creative Web Assistant (S9979C)
Summary, Scope, and Responsibilities
Have your friends ever called your “artsy” more than once? Same here. Have you ever designed posters, websites, or logos? What is the coolest video project you’ve every made? Do you come up with cool ideas and blog about them in your spare time? What’s your favorite video on Vimeo? Are you sharing some cool photos on Flickr right now? Do you know your way around Adobe Creative Suite, Final Cut Pro, and/or WordPress? Can you tell me what PHP, HTML, or CSS means?
If any or some of this sounds like something you might want to do for extra spending money, we should talk because I think you might want to help out in the Office of Communications and Media Relations. If you’re interested, you’ll need to be able to work toward project deadlines. Also, the work can sometimes happen under a lot of creative, encouraging, and self-guided pressure. The position sometimes even involves night/evening work hours. Why you ask? Because we love Bates as much as you do! The folks in CMR are all a bunch of highly skilled, highly creative designers, communicators, photographers, and writers. We have some very cool, but challenging, projects on the horizon and we are seeking creative-minded student workers to help us promote Bates to our various constituencies.
Specific responsibilities include, but may not be limited to:
- Creative messaging
- Creative concept development
- Blogging
- Graphic design
- Video shooting and editing
- Photo shooting and editing
- Minor HTML and CSS coding
- Other tasks as assigned
