Summary, Scope, and Responsibilities
The Web Communications Assistant’s main focus is to assist the Web Communications Manager in improving content on Bates College’s core website. His/Her primary duties will be to work effectively with clients to evaluate and update existing content, public new content, and respond to reports of bugs, problems, or irregularities from broken links to poor spelling. He or she will collaborate with clients of all levels of technological expertise from many offices on the Bates College campus, managing tasks from initial contact through resolution. He or she will proactively and regularly communicate task status with clients and the Web Communications Manager. He or she will be required to learn and implement Bates core site standards, (including architecture, structure, grammar, and presentation styles).
The Web Communications Assistant must have a keen eye for irregularities. He or she must be friendly and outgoing, and maintain a professional attitude. He or she will be expected to train others, and provide second-tier support. (The ILS Help Desk provides first-tier support.)
