BCO: Writing Specialist (S9604X)

Summary, Scope, and Responsibilities

Students will be working with Phyllis Jensen in connection with a Harward Center Publicly Engaged Academic Project that will result in the creation of a collection of short written essays that will reflect the immigrant experience. The writing and accompanying visual materials will be exhibited in a format that can be shared publicly with the community.

Task and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Outreach to and collaboration with a cross-section of writers and writing teachers
  • Create a writing prompt
  • Edit written materials submitted
  • Create and Execute an exhibition format

Requirements


outstanding writing and editing skills;

excellent organization skills;

ability to work well with ESL writers;

ability to complete assignments in timely fashion;

interest in community history


Reporting


Students will report to Phyllis Graber Jensen, Bates Communications Office, and will also work closely with non-college personnel
