Summary, Scope, and Responsibilities

This position includes washing animal cages/fish tanks and other supplies used for animal husbandry.  Student workers are required to keep the washroom area organized and clean. Other duties are stocking colony rooms with lab ware and animal supplies.

Responsibilities include, but may not be limited to:

  • Autoclaving lab ware, sweeping and mopping hallways and floors
  • Replenishing bedding and food when depleted.

Qualifications, Requirements, and Responsibilities

Responsibilities


Student workers are required to be able to lift 50 lbs. Other responsibilities is to run the autoclave when trained.

Requirements


• Student worker must be dependable and work independently • No experience necessary

Reporting


Student workers will report to Mary Hughes, Animal Care and Plant Coordinator for Carnegie Science.
