BIO: Research Assistant (S9682C)

Summary, Scope, and Responsibilities

This position includes general laboratory work such as making solutions, cleaning and autoclaving glassware, pouring plates, DNA isolations, and maintaining laboratory records. Researchers will also be collecting and culturing sponge tissue. Additional research responsibilities may include molecular and microscopy work depending on background and interest.

Qualifications, Requirements, and Responsibilities


Successful completion of BIO 242: Cellular and Molecular Biology. Basic knowledge of making chemical solutions and using sterile technique.


Students will report to April Hill and may work in collaboration with other students in the lab.


Laboratory environment. Some travel to field sites may be required.
