BIO: Zebrafish Technician (S99992)

Summary, Scope, and Responsibilities

This position is located in the animal colony of Carnegie science and involves independent work cleaning tanks for the zebrafish colony. Additional work involving fish such as raising larvae and moving adults between tanks is possible if wanted.

Qualifications, Requirements, and Responsibilities

Requirements


This position requires that the student be completely independent (e.g. set and work your own hours), be diligent, and careful. You must be trained by the animal care coordinator in animal safety and must attend an animal care module at the beginning of the semester.

Reporting


The student will report to Professor Williams, but work in collaboration with Mary Hughes, the animal care coordinator in the animal colony.

Responsibilities


The work will be completed in the animal colony and involves manual labor cleaning tanks. Must be able to stand on your feet for work.
