Summary, Scope, and Responsibilities
The Ronj Manager maintains all management responsibilities for the coffee shop. He or she also covers scheduling, handling of cash and accounting for funds, balancing the budget, event scheduling, inventories, orders, and opening/maintaining lines of communication.The Manager must be timely, flexible, honest, dedicated and level-headed. He or she must also successfully integrate student/staff/customer ideas and opinions to generate a better coffee shop.
The Ronj Manager must be a current Bates student. Previous experience with Food service and/or food retail, specifically coffee shop experience, as well as supervisory experience is optimal.
The Ronj Manager must ensure that all regulations are followed by all staff. He or she is responsible for the Assistant Managers and must ensure that all staff voices are heard.
Specific responsibilities include, but may not be limited to:
- Supervise/advise smooth process of all jobs. At least one Manager will be on call for any emergencies.
- Place orders
- Restock/Inventory of supplies
- Ensure that safety/sanitation/security standards are met
- Oversees interviews and hires and training
