DIN: Nutrition Coordinator (S9977C)

Summary, Scope, and Responsibilities

The Nutrition Coordinator will be expected to work both independently and as part of a team of CHEWS committee members charged with educating students about healthy food choices and wellness as well as helping to enrich the social existence of students. Duties include developing, coordinating and presenting monthly events in Commons, producing weekly educational articles for napkin ads in Commons and submitting monthly articles to the “Bates Student” newspaper. CHEWS does not attempt to change the way Commons is run or set up. An ideal applicant not only has a love for food but, more importantly, has a desire to communicate to others about food and nutrition in a fun way. Our purpose is not to change diets of Bates students, but instead provide information and let each individual use it in whatever way that student would like.
