HCCP: Science Fair Coordinator (S9648X)
Summary, Scope, and Responsibilities
The Harward Center for Community Partnerships has been involved in the Lewiston High School Science Fair for five years. It has actively engaged Bates students as both organizers and judges. The Science Fair takes place in the first week of May every year. Preparation for the fair happens year round, with most work done from the end of March through May. I am looking for a student Coordinator for the science fair.
The Science Fair Coordinator must be around for short term and have a fairly flexible schedule during the end of second semester and short term to be able to make meetings. He or she must be extremely well organized, able to work independently, yet good at working with others, friendly, creative, and hardworking.
Specific responsibilities include, but may not be limited to:
- Go to all meetings in preparation for the fair (no more than once a week for 45 minutes)
- Oversee and help type up a large database of projects
- Oversee and play a large role in setting up and running the fair during the first week of May
- Type up press releases
- Make copies
- Gather and organize judges
