HLC: Peer Educator (S9862C)
Summary, Scope, and Responsibilities
The Health Center Peer Educator will be trained by Health Center personnel to facilitate student workshops that are designed to increase students’ knowledge regarding specific student health topics such as substance use, sexuality issues, and eating disorders. Peer Educators will attend 8-10 hours of paid training with other Peer Educators before presenting 2-3 programs per semester. Peer Educators will work in teams of two when facilitating student workshops in residence halls.
Specific responsibilities include, but may not be limited to:
- Assist in collecting information for Health Center Surveys and tabulating results
- Assist in designing posters, fliers, and other printed Health Center materials
- Phone calls
- Library and internet searches on health information as requested
- Other duties as assigned

Bates student and an interest in college health topics
