The Bibliographic Services Student Specialist will do the processing of library book and non-book materials. This employee must be able to follow detailed instructions and work independently.

Qualifications, Requirements, and Responsibilities

Responsibilities


Specific responsibilities include, but may not be limited to: Processing library materials by printing and applying labels, applying bookplates, tattletape, and barcodes to items, Sewing scores into pamphlet binders, Processing periodicals, Mail-handling if student shift allows, Sorting weeded material and other inventory by database searching, Assisting with various library projects as needed

Requirements


EXPERIENCE: Library bibliographic services or other library experience desired. This student must have keyboard skills. Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications, and curriculum-related interest in books, film, or music are also desired.

Reporting


Coordinates/Works closely with Ladd Library staff. Supervisors: Carole Parker, Jenn Michel, Sharon Saunders

Working Conditions


ENVIRONMENT: Office and library. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: This student must lift and open boxes, move books and other library materials, and move book trucks. MACHINES & EQUIPMENT USED: Computers, printers, library materials, and processing equipment.
