Summary, Scope, and Responsibilities

Description:

The Special Project Student will work directly with Research Librarians during Short Term to produce a variety of outreach media to introduce first years to the college research, its tools, and strategies. We’re looking for a creative, intellectually thoughtful student to help invigorate the Library’s approach to student orientation, FYS instruction, and general outreach with video or web guides as possible solutions.

This position offers a great opportunity for students to apply their presentation skills and own experiences transitioning to an academic environment for a richer research experience for others and is an excellent resume booster with a final product for the portfolio.


Requirements/Responsibilities:

REQUIRED: Must have strong research, communication, and organizational skills. Ability to complete projects in a timely manner.

DESIRED: Experience with a variety of online and other presentation software.
