ILS: Video Production Assistant (S9855B)
Summary, Scope, and Responsibilities
The Video Production Assistant (PA) works with the Digital Media Center staff on video production tasks. These tasks will include, but are not limited to, logging and capturing media, editing media, trans-coding media, and authoring and burning DVDs.
An interest or passion for film-making and video production is desired. A willingness to learn is essential. There will be opportunities for creativity and production design for those interested.
Specific responsibilities include, but may not be limited to:
- Capture and edit video using Final Cut Pro
- Author and burn DVDs using DVD Studio Pro
- Assist in general equipment maintenance
Note: most production tasks will be performed with little immediate supervision, however many tasks will be time sensitive. Occasionally, the Video PA may be asked to provide evening support in the Digital Media Center labs.

Qualifications, Requirements, and Responsibilities
Requirements
Training is provided, but this is a highly skilled position so applicants with limited experiences should be prepared to jump in with both feet. Any video experience or experience with Final Cut Studio or Adobe Illustrator/Photoshop is a plus.

Reports to Collin Kelley.
Responsibilities
Works in the Digital Media Center in Pettigrew. The PA spends 95% of their work time sitting at a video editing work station, viewing computer monitors. He or she works with Apple computers and DV decks.
