MOA: Collections Management Intern (S9822B)

Summary, Scope, and Responsibilities

The Collections Management Intern works with the Collections Management System (CMS), maintaining and entering object records, and doing accessioning of museum acquisitions. This student will also partake in hands-on work with collections and occasional help with gallery installation. Formal training and readings required.

The Collections Management Intern must be an organized, responsible, detail-oriented student, who is able to work independently.

This student works in both the museum and library, and may have to travel to other collections. He or she must have good agility and the ability to lift and move objects. He or she will often use a PC, scanner, photocopier, hygrothermograph, and PH meter are a must.

Requirements


This student must have PC proficiency and experience with database work and input, Excel, and Photoshop. Experience in a gallery or collections setting, experience handling art, and/or experience scanning/imaging art, is a plus.

Reports to: William Low, Curator Coordinates/Works closely with: Curator, other interns, and museum staff

Responsibilities
