OFF: Retail and Production Assistant (S9993C)

Summary, Scope, and Responsibilities

This position works within Office Services, Lane Hall RM 1 operations. This position supports staff and management producing work assignments and provides customer service ranging from general clerical office duties to manual mail package and printing work to package and mail handling and delivery. The Retail and Production Assistant will be responsible for completing work within Office Services guidelines for quality, timeliness, customer service and confidentiality.

Specific responsibilities include, but may not be limited to:

  • Provide retail customer service in the various Office Services locations
  • Interact with Office Services patrons in person, by telephone, by email, or through written communication
  • Receive instructions and information from students, staff, faculty, and other community members regarding projects and tasks submitted to OS for production
  • Package and provide completed work to patron pickup or deliver to patrons shipping services, as well as services related to printing, finishing, fulfillment and design/typesetting
  • Operate cash register and handle cash, check, and department accounting code and charge back transactions
  • Act in such a way as to ensure patron needs are met in a friendly, supportive, proactive, accountable, and cost effective way
  • Provide information to patrons regarding Office Services processes, USPS mail, FEDEX, UPS, DHL, printing, bulk mail or other services
  • Operate office, print and mail production equipment: copiers, printers, mail metering machines, folders, inserters, cutters, laminators, strappers, staplers, binders, mail metering equipment, scales and shipping computers
  • Utilize computers and computer software for data entry, information look-up, typesetting, printing, carrier shipping and estimating
  • Operate cash registers
  • Answer telephones
  • Manually process mail and packages, including stuffing, folding, sealing, inserting, emptying, stapling, cutting, laminating and binding, aligning/jogging paper and supplies

Responsibilities


PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: The Retail and Production Assistant must be able to repeatedly lift 50lbs.
