Summary, Scope, and Responsibilities

The Photographer documents the programs of the Office of  Intercultural Education (OIE) and other campus related events and programs that take place throughout the year around issues of difference and inclusion. The Photographer will work with the Program Coordinator, Program Assistants and Communication Assistant to maintain and update the OIE website and presence on social media sites. S/he is expected to produce a photographic journal of difference and inclusion at Bates, showcasing various programs and people.

This student must be reliable, able to work evenings of programs and some weekends, and have the ability to work well with faculty, staff and guests of the College.

Qualifications, Requirements, and Responsibilities

Requirements


The Photographer must have at least two years of photography experience with a portfolio. He or she must know how to use a digital camera, scanner, Photoshop, and Microsoft Picture It, and iPhoto.

Reporting


Reports to Dean Roland Davis and works closely with other work-study students, the Associate Dean/Director, the Assistant Dean for Student Transitions, and the Program Coordinator.

Responsibilities


The Photographer will work out of the Intercultural Center and the rest of the Bates College campus. He or she must attend at least 50% of OIE sponsored events. He or she will use a digital camera, computer, and scanner.
