Summary, Scope, and Responsibilities
The Field Workers and Score Keepers assist in helping the athletic competition run smoothly.
These students must be able to follow directions of the hired officials, maintain focus on the game for an extended period of time, and work well with others to share the duties and responsibilities so that all of the tasks are covered.
Specific responsibilities include, but may not be limited to:
- Follow the directions of the hired officials
- Have the ability to maintain focus on the game for extended periods of time in order to properly score the game
- Work well with others to share the duties and responsibilities so that all tasks are covered

Pay Grade: B
Hours: varies, 2-4 hours / game
Workers: 20-25 to cover all sports and field jobs
Qualifications, Requirements, and Responsibilities
EXPERIENCE: These students must have knowledge of the sport being played, perferably as a former player.
REPORTS TO: Gwen Lexow
COORDINATES/WORKS CLOSELY WITH: Hired game officials and other crew-members on the playing field
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: This job requires continuous movement on the sidelines. In the case of baseball and softball, the employee will have to retrieve balls from as far as 300 feet from the home plate as quickly as possible. Scorers must also have good eyesight so that they can see the ball in play and the signs made by officials.
