Summary, Scope, and Responsibilities
The Lifeguard will open and secure the pool area. He or she is also responsible for the safety of all that enter the pool area.
Specific responsibilities include, but may not be limited to:
Lifeguards are to speak with their supervisors about any absence prior to missing the scheduled work shift.
The availability of the Tarbell Pool for recreational swim and other aquatic events requires the presence of a lifeguard on duty at all times. The absence of a lifeguard results in not only the unavailability of the facility, but an inconvenience to facility users, staff and Supervisors as well.
Therefore, any unexcused absence without prior supervisor approval or a replacement scheduled will result in the immediate termination of employment for the semester.
