Summary, Scope, and Responsibilities

The Student Financial Services Assistant plays an instrumental role in greeting and directing visitors who come to Student Financial Services. He or she interacts with our constituents via phone and in-person, and must act and speak with discretion. The Assistant is responsible for reviewing forms dropped off by visitors, arranging meetings, providing basic information to commonly asked questions, and performing other duties as assigned. He or she will also perform clerical duties

The individual in this role is expected to be highly accurate with information processing. Confidentiality, reliability, and attentiveness to detail are imperative.

Specific responsibilities include, but may not be limited to:

  • Answering and routing incoming phone calls
  • Recording messages in a database
  • Filing
  • Photocopying
  • Processing incoming mail
  • Handling small amounts of cash
