2007: Bates hosts its first annual Trashion Show

2008 : Highlights from the second annual Trashion Show

Sponsored by Dining Services and the Environmental Coordinator, and staffed by EcoReps, this annual event features students and staff designing and modeling clothes made from recycled materials!

In 2008, over a dozen students participated in the Trashion Show. A panel of judges awarded prizes in five catagories:

Most Creative: Clara Serling Finley won a solar charger for cell phones, MP3s, PDAs, etc.

Most Wearable: Amelia Harman wom a $15 Milt’s gift certificate.

Most Fashionable: Margaret Koerber won a Sustainable Bates tee shirt.

Most Unique: Emily Grady, Rob Friedman, Molly Mylius won a $20 Nezinscot Farm gift certificate.

Best Overall: Nicolette Robbins and Carrie Harris won a Polartec Fleece pull-over jacket (made from recycled PET water bottles).
