Peter Richards is a theater director and actor based in New York City. Directing credits include: The Aliens by Annie Baker, Elizabeth Rex by Timothy Findley, Dying City by Christopher Shinn, Brilliant Traces by Cindy Lou Johnson, and Men’s Lives (reading) by Joe Pintauro, all at Opera House Arts in Stonington, Maine. Acting credits include: Measure for Measure (Claudio/Escalus) and As You Like It (Orlando) at Opera House Arts, Olly’s Prison and Dido, Queen of Carthage at American Repertory Theater, Othello (Cassio) at American Stage Theater. New York theater credits: Ivanov (Blessed Unrest Theater Company), Gone (59E59 Theater), Romeo and Juliet, Macbeth, Coriolanus (Shakespeare NYC). He recently performed at The Metropolitan Opera in From the House of the Dead, Hamlet, Boris Godunov, and Don Giovanni. He is a founding company member of Conni’s Avant Garde Restaurant, a NYC-based theater ensemble that has toured to Boston and Cleveland. Television credits: Law and Order: SVU and As The World Turns.
