The George and Helen Ladd Library contains nearly 589,000 printed volumes, more than 298,000 microform items, and nearly 32,000 recordings; subscriptions are maintained to more than 2,200 periodicals. An extensive renovation program, completed in fall 1999, brought several improvements to Ladd Library, including new, expanded computer labs and multimedia facilities; expanded stack and study spaces (over 800); wired study carrels with network access for 150 connections for portable computers; improvements in safety and handicap accessibility; and improved acoustics and lighting.
