The Bates Multicultural Center hosts lectures, films, exhibits, and other events focusing on issues of multiculturalism. It houses offices for student organizations concerned with these issues, including Amandla! (Bates' African American organization), the Gay-Lesbian-Bisexual Alliance, the International Club, Bates Hillel, Sangai Asia, Solidaridad Latina, and the Women's Action Coalition. The building also houses the Office of the Director of Multicultural Affairs.
