The Bates Quadrangle, or "Quad," is a lush open area with many majestic trees. The quad is a spectacular sight in Autumn, and a gentle spot for outdoor classes in late Spring. This open space is surrounded by many of Bates' oldest buildings, including Rand Hall and the Chapel to the west, Parker, Hathorn, and Dana Chemistry to the north, Coram Library and Carnegie Science to the east, and Lindholm House and Milliken and Whittier House to the south. |
Above: autumn glory; below: spring study.
