Liz Leberman '10

LEWISTON, Maine -- Bates College senior Liz Leberman was named to the 2009 CoSIDA ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District Women's Volleyball Third Team in the College Division of District 1, announced on Thursday.

A four-year starting outside hitter for the Bobcats, Leberman (Concord, N.H.) helped lead Bates to its best overall record since 2003 this season, at 16-9. Carrying a double-major in Spanish and history, Leberman has maintained a 3.77 cumulative grade point average. She is the first Bates volleyball player to earn this honor since it was instituted in 2005.

A two-year team captain, Leberman was one of two players for Bates (along with setter Grace Haessler) who rarely left the floor. She ranked second on the team in kills, with 2.39 per set, posting a career-high .201 attack percentage. Leberman was second on the Bobcats in both digs (2.61 per set) and serve receptions (.905 percentage on 348 attempts).

Over her four years as a Bobcat, Leberman totaled 998 kills (2.44 per set) and 1,317 digs (3.22 per set).
