Bowman Leaves Volleyball Program for Trinity
5/28/ 2004

Bowman takes a 30-10 record in NESCAC matches to Trinity.

LEWISTON, Maine – Jen Bowman will step down from her position as head volleyball coach at Bates College to take the head coaching job at Trinity College in Hartford, Conn., at the end of June.

"Jen was a great asset to the Bates Athletic Department for the past four years," said Bates Director of Athletics, Suzanne Coffey. "While we wish her luck at Trinity, we remain committed to our proud tradition in volleyball. We have begun a national search to find a qualified candidate to take over and keep our program at the top of the NESCAC."

Bowman led the Bobcats to 105-41 record in four seasons. In her first season, Bates advanced to the NCAA regional finals, going 31-9. Last year, the Bobcats were 26-9, including 9-1 in New England Small College Athletic Conference matches, and the team advanced to the NESCAC Championship final.

Bowman, who spent two years at Frostburg State prior to her arrival at Bates, will take a record of 177-50 in six years as an NCAA Division III head coach to Trinity.
