Class Agents

The role of Bates Class Agents cannot be overstated. Class Agents drive the number and value of gifts made to the college, providing resources for key priorities, the first of which is financial aid for qualified students who would otherwise be unable to attend Bates.

The Bates Fund also plays a crucial role in other key areas, including:

  • Improving Bates’ ability to compete for major grants
  • Supporting student and faculty programs and research through grants
  • Attracting and retaining the best possible faculty
  • Helping Bates retain its status as one of the world’s leading institutions of higher learning; this, in turn, maintains the value of our Bates degrees

The Class Agent role is creating and nurturing a sense of community among alumni, keeping them abreast of what’s going on at the college, while strengthening their relationship with Bates.

Without the work of our Class Agents, alumni participation would not be growing exponentially, and Bates would not be the college that it is. With the support and drive of our current agents, the Class Agent program is poised to create a strong foundation for Bates’ continued success and growth for years to come.
