Bates Parents Fund Committee

Claire Lampen ’12 will be conducting research in Germany next year as a part of her Fulbright. Seven members of the Class of 2012 received Fulbright grants.
The Bates Parents Fund is an annual fundraising campaign, under the umbrella of the Bates Fund, that raises unrestricted dollars from current parents and parents of alumni to help facilitate the Bates experience—from educational, social, athletic, and artistic programs to scholarship and faculty support.
The college asks every parent to consider making a yearly unrestricted gift to the fund. Gifts from parents support the exceptional programs that make Bates one of the finest liberal arts colleges in the nation. In 2011-2012, the Bates Parents Fund raised $1.63 million. The goal for 2012-2013 is $1.65 million (the fiscal year runs through June 30, 2013).
Members of the Bates Parents Fund Committee (BPFC) reach out to current and past parents throughout the year and encourage them to make gifts in support of the college. Through the time, effort and philanthropic leadership of the BPFC, Bates has become widely known among peer schools for the exceptional support of its parents.
