Alexandra Piacquad

2007-2008: Ranked 13th in doubles in NCAA Division III Northeast by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association, along with teammate Cecilia Grissa….  In September in a Bates’ 9-0 victory over Southern Maine, Piacquad held her opponent scoreless at the No. 2 singles position…. At the Bowdoin Round Robin, Piacquad and Grissa downed Colby’s Muto and Alessandra Welker 8-6 as their team took its third victory at the tournament…. At ITA Championships, Piacquad teamed up with Grissa for a victory in the Doubles Championship Bracket, defeating Jen Murphy and Laura Stein of Amherst College 8-6; Piacquad also competed for Bates in the Singles Championship, losing her Championship Bracket match to seventh-seeded Amanda Berck of Middlebury, but going on to post a win in the Consolation Bracket, downing Ana Katz of Brandeis (2-6, 6-0, 1-0[5])…. Grissa reached the quarterfinals in No. 1 singles at NEWITT in late October…. Against Colby in March,  Piacquad and Caryn Benisch paired up to defeat Colby’s Nicole Veilleux and Audrey Jacobsen 8-0 in first doubles; Piacquad won a tough victory in first singles (6-2, 7-6 (3)).

High School: Earned varsity letters in tennis and crew… Captain of the tennis team as well as all-state.
