WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. -- Bates junior Whitney Roller (Haverford, Pa.) fell to Virginia Shannon of Middlebury 9-5, 9-2, 10-8 on Saturday in the Holleran Cup (A Division) consolation quarterfinals in the College Squash Association Individual Nationals at Williams College.

Bates junior Hannah Laverty won her opening round match Friday in the Holleran Cup (A Division) draw on Friday. Laverty (Brooklyn, N.Y.) defeated Eleanor Weiss of Vassar 9-5, 9-4, 9-4 before falling to Emery Holton of Trinity in the Round of 32.

Also playing in the Holleran Division, Roller fell in the opening round to Shara Robertson of Mount Holyoke, 9-6, 9-0, 9-5. Roller moved on to the consolation bracket, where she defeated Eleanor Weiss of Vassar in straight games, 9-6, 9-4, 9-2 before meeting Shannon on Saturday.
