LEWISTON, Maine -- The Bates College men's basketball team won a school-record 10th game in a row Friday night, dominating Middlebury College 69-47 in a NESCAC contest at Alumni Gymnasium. Junior guard Zak Ray (Bangor, Maine) led the Bobcats (13-2, 3-0 NESCAC) with 16 points and sophomore guard Pat Halloran (Plymouth, N.H.) added a career-high 15 points off the bench. The Bobcats scored 13 points off turnovers in the first half and received nine points on 3-of-3 shooting from senior Sean Cahill (Worcester, Mass.) to help grab a commanding 39-24 lead at the half. The Panthers went cold in the second period, hitting only six field goals on 24 attempts. Sophomore forward Mike Walsh (Needham, Mass.) led Middlebury with 14 points and five rebounds, while junior Evan Thompson (New York, N.Y.) and sophomore Andrew Harris (Waterbury Center, Vt.) added 10 apiece.
