Annie Barton '08 won the 200 IM in 2:17.46.

LEWISTON, Maine -- The Bates College women's swimming and diving team defeated Wellesley College on Saturday, while Connecticut College's men's and women's teams each earned wins over Bates in the Bobcats' final regular-season meet Saturday at Tarbell Pool.

Connecticut College's women's team defeated Bates 181-117, while the Bates women beat Wellesley 154.5-145.5. The Connecticut College men's team, meanwhile, defeated Bates 151-116.

Both the Bates men and women once again recorded a number of best times (both in season bests and lifetime bests) during the meet.

Senior Fisher Qua (Cambridge, N.Y.) swam a 1:05.7 for the breaststroke leg of the 400 Medley Relay, his best performance outside of the NESCAC championships. Qua also won the 50 breaststroke with a finals time of 30.27 seconds.

Senior John Bauer won the 50 freestyle with a finals time of 23.28 seconds.

Sophomore diver Dan Perry (Exeter, N.H.) outscored his competition to win both the 1- and 3-meter contests.

First-year Chris Berry (Augusta, Maine) had his second fastest 100 backstroke ever, placing first in the event, while sophomore Brendan Brodeur (Manchester, Conn.) finished fourth with a lifetime best time.

Senior Kate Gatti (Chelmsford, Mass.) lowered her 100 freestyle time even further, at 55.86, and out-touched her competition from Wellesley to regain the lead in the meet for Bates.

Sophomore Kristin Gray (Cranbury, N.J.) also outswam her competition from Wellesley with a season-best time in the 100 fly.

First-year Kelsey Lamdin (Brunswick, Maine) won first place in the 1- and 3-meter diving.

Sophomore Annie Barton (Holladay, Utah) took first place for Bates in the 200 individual medley, with a finals time of 2:17.46.

The Bates women are off until the NESCAC championships, taking place at Bowdoin College Feb. 17-19. The men have their NESCAC championships the following weekend at Williams College.
