Peter Lasagna enters his seventh season as head coach of men's lacrosse at Bates College as the current NESCAC Coach of the Year.

Only the third head lacrosse coach in school history, Lasagna led the Bobcats to a 6-6 record in 2007, following a 9-5 record in 2006 and a foray into the semifinals of the NESCAC Championships and a 9-6 record in 2005. Lasagna has compiled a 42-45 record thus far at Bates, with three appearances in the NESCAC Championships.

A 1982 graduate of Brown University, Lasagna came to Bates after 18 years of coaching at his alma mater, including the last eight as head coach.

Lasagna compiled a 65-51 record as the Bears' head coach, 30-18 in Ivy League games. Brown went to three NCAA Division I championship tournaments during his tenure, including an appearance in the national semifinals in 1994 and the quarterfinals in 1995. Lasagna was named Division I Coach of the Year by the United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association that year. He was also named Division I Coach of the Year by the New England Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association in both 1994 and 1995.

Lasagna won more NCAA playoff games at Brown than any other Brown head coach.

In 2002, Lasagna was inducted into the New England Lacrosse Hall of Fame.

Lasagna is also head golf coach at Bates.
