“FAITH AND ENVIRONMENT: WHERE IS GOD IN THE MIDST OF THE ECOLOGICAL CRISIS?” This week’s gathering of the Bates Christian Fellowship will feature a presentation by Tim Clayton on the role of faith in ecological care. Tim is the founder of Eleuthero – A Christian community that explores the interaction of Christian spirituality and theology with environmental ethics and issues of justice for the poor. This Saturday the Student Activities Office is happy to be offering another great opportunity to visit one of America's great cities - Boston. The luxury coach leaves from in front of Chase Hall at 8 am, and leaves Boston at 8 pm, giving you about 9 hours to visit friends, see historical landmarks and even do some shopping. DISCOVER SCUBA WEEKEND - Learn more about scuba diving and the Bates Scuba Society this weekend!!!!!! Come eat free peel and eat shrimp, muscles, and clams at the Marche Station this Thursday night at dinner in Commons. Come and have a good time at the Under the Sea Dance this Friday night in the Little Room. Feel free to come wearing your dive gear, bathing suits, and other tropical attire. No admission fee. Come try out scuba diving for free this Saturday at 11:30am in Tarbell pool. Pool sessions will be about a half hour long and taught by our very own residential PADI certified dive instructor. Sign-ups will be held at the Marche Station this Thursday night and at the dance this Friday night. Email ghenkes@bates.edu for any further questions about this event.
