For Parents
Parents and guardians continue to play a vital role in the lives of students. As educational and personal challenges present themselves to your student, it is important to keep the lines of communication open while respecting your son or daughter's privacy and independence. Listening, providing guidance and support, and having confidence in your student's ability to problem solve will help them through tough times while preparing them to cope with the future difficulties more independently. College is a time of tremendous adjustment, growth, and change. Anticipate that stress, anxiety, and depression may affect your son or daughter. At times, your student may need additional help dealing with a medical or psychological issue. During those times, please help your student find his/her way to our door. The Health Center is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week when school is in session. There is no charge for a visit and a registered nurse is on duty at all times. Please understand that the assurance of confidentiality is crucial to students. Students over 18 have the legal right to medical confidentiality and information can only be released with their written permission. Resources for Parents Student Health 101 For Parents.
