If you are applying to Bates and would like to send us additional materials to demonstrate your interest and experience in art, such as slides of art work or photography, please send Bates Admissions your resume and/or a labeled CD. Please fill out the Bates College Optional Arts Form and send it with your labeled materials. If you would like the materials to be returned to you, please enclose a self-addressed and postage pre-paid envelope.

It is very important that you submit your materials according to the following specifications. If not, your materials will not be reviewed.

• You must submit 10 different images of work done within the last two years. These images may be submitted either as slides or as digital files
  
• Slide portfolios should be in a clear slide sheet
  
• Digital submissions should be sent on CD with images saved in jpeg file format, with the widest dimension not to exceed 1800 pixels or approximately 360 ppi at 5 inches wide
  
• A printed inventory list of the title, year, medium and dimensions for each of the 10 images must accompany your material
  
• Identify on each material your name and the type of portfolio you are submitting (for example: ceramics, drawing, painting, photography, printmaking, sculpture or a combination of these categories)
