Margaret Imber

Margaret Imber graduated from the University of Chicago with a BA in Classics in 1980. After a detour that involved law school (University of Michagan J. D. 1986) and a legal practice in California as a ligator and as an assistant U.S. attorney, she came to her sense and earned a PhD in Classics from Stanford University (1997). She studies the social history of Roman rhetoric and law. She teaches courses in ancient rhetoric, Roman civilization, Athenian litigation and Latin and Greek language classes. She is also interested in contemporary American politics and can be found in office reading political blogs and arguing partisan politics with students.
