Lisa Maurizio received her BA from Wellesley College and her Phd in Classics from Princeton University (1993). She is interested in Greek festivals, religious practices, and their representation in Greek art. She has published on Apollo's oracle shrine and his priestess, the Pythia, at Delphi as well as other topics. She regularly teaches courses on Greek myths, Greek religious architecture and sculpture, the relationship between psychoanalytic theory and myth and Greek and Latin language classes. Some of her plays on myths from ancient Greece have been performed here at Bates College and at the Boston Center for Contemporary Arts under the direction of John Ambrosino ('01) with whom she collaborated on many projects. She can be seen around campus with her two Wheaton terriers.
