The Career Discovery Internship Program (CDIP) provides an ideal opportunity for students to
-
Explore potential careers
-
Find out what someone in a specific occupation does all day
-
Lean what skills you’ll need to succeed in a particular job
-
Try on a career before investing in grad school or applying for jobs
-
Make contacts that may facilitate your search for permanent employment
-
Clarify your career preferences
Participants in CDIP are matched with Bates alumni and spend from one to five days shadowing them at work. This year, the program will take place over February Break, running from February 15-19, 2010.
Many alumni sponsors are able to provide accommodations for students in their homes. If this is not possible, students make their own arrangements for room and board. Students are responsible for making their own travel arrangements and expenses.
Our alumni generously volunteer their time and expertise to provide these opportunities to students. Therefore, the types of placements and geographic locations vary widely from year to year. For a list of this year’s opportunities, please visit eRecruiting and under One-Click Searches click on CDIP 2010.
