The following guidelines have been established by the Office of Career Services to ensure that the needs of students and recruiters are adequately met. We will work with you in evaluating and establishing recruiting services tailored to your employer's needs. 1. The OCS will actively advertise and inform students of your visit. To ensure a positive student response please send the job notice and materials to the OCS as soon as you establish your recruiting date. 2. Recruiters should make every effort to follow their agreed-upon interview schedule. 3. Names of students who do not appear for interviews, who are late, or who "walk in" without an appointment should be submitted to a Career Services Staff for follow-up. 4. Bates College does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, natural or ethnic origin, religion, sex, sexual orientation, marital or parental status, or age or handicap in the recruitment and admission of its students, in the administration of its educational polices and programs, or in the recruitment and employment of its faculty and staff. The facilities of the Office of Career Services of Bates College are available only to those employers whose recruitment and employment practices are consistent with this policy and the College Placement Council's "Principles and Practices of College Career Planning, Placement and Recruitment," listed in the CPC's Annual. In addition, each recruiter should be familiar with Table VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1969 (and its later amendments), the guidelines established by the Equal Employment Opportunity Emission, and other applicable federal and state laws. |
